Tummy Tuck Abdominoplasty is the name given in Cosmetic Surgery to the complete treatment of aesthetic alteration to the abdominal region, which is often the result of pregnancy, although it can also be a consequence of obesity. Many women do not regain their original figure following a pregnancy, particularly if they have grown large in the pregnancy or it is not the first one.

Medical Philosophy

Following the pregnancy a series of aesthetic problems can arise simultaneously, essentially weakness to the muscular wall and excessive skin, associated at times with an accumulation of fat on the hips to a greater or lesser degree. The weakness in the muscular wall behind the abdomen is known in medical terms as diastasis recti. This phenomenon occurs during pregnancy and allows for the normal growth of uterus and baby. It consists in the dilation and broadening of the tendon that lies along the middle line of the abdomen and that joins both halves of the muscular wall. This tendon receives the name of linea alba and, together with the dilation of the rest of the muscular wall, allows for the normal evolution of a pregnancy.

At the same time as the muscular structures and tendons allow for the development of the new being, the skin also participates in this phenomenon by growing at the rate required by the abdomen. On occasions the lower abdominal skin does not have sufficient elasticity, or the pregnancy has become very voluminous, so that this skin literally fragments, with numerous stretch marks appearing and consequent flaccidity.

Once the pregnancy has concluded it can happen that the muscular and cutaneous dilation does not return to its original condition at all, or maybe only partly. This leads to the thickening of the waist and a globulous abdomen, abdominal folds, a considerable excess in skin, in short, a deformed figure. Clothes do not fit as well as before, sizes are increased, supportive undergarments are required to control the abdomen and the woman may even feel physically unwell. In cases where extreme flaccidity in the skin exists a chronic rubbing can occur in the folds that have formed, causing permanent skin irritation and hygiene problems.

Abdominoplasty is a treatment designed specifically to resolve all these problems together. First of all comes the stretching or lifting of the skin on the wall behind the abdomen, from the pubic area to the higher area, just under the breasts. This treatment eliminates all excess skin, the tummy button is repaired and improved and the outline of the figure is adjusted accordingly. There follows the reconstruction of the abdominal wall, that consists in relocating the displaced or weakened musculature, and reinforcing the structure of the tendons that have become dilated. The muscular section of the treatment produces a strong and straight abdomen that, at the same time, reduces the waist.

Abdominoplasty can also be practised on patients who have suffered from obesity and have lost a lot of weight. Excess skin can be eliminated perfectly using this technique.

In case where, for a particular medical reason a full abdominoplasty is not advisable, but the patient needs to eliminate a section of skin from the lower abdomen area, a simple dermolipectomy can be performed. This consists in eliminating excess skin solely at that level by a simple and swift method.

Recovery can be achieved in the abdomen, resulting in a smooth and firm belly, a curvaceous waist and a satisfactory figure.

Surgical repair of abdominal pregnancy or following episodes of obesity or a mixture of the former sequelae by removing excess skin, muscle fascia reinforcement, correction of the navel, etc. In many cases full treatment is applied, however some patients need only cutaneous correction over the whole abdomen or even maybe only at the lower suprapubic portion of it.

Commercial Philosophy

We are fully aware of the importance for the patients to feel satisfied with their abdominal shape, both in their own personal being and in their world around them. That is why we have designed a product so that an abdominoplasty can be within reach of any person who needs abdomen modelling, irrespective of their financial possibilities. Finally, there is available to the general public the best offer of abdominal surgery in terms of price/quality. Without compromising results or guarantees we allow any person to have the possibility of seeing their dreams come true, without it representing an unviable economic outlay.

This information is indicative only and does not represent an obligation with customers. This technical datasheet is based in statistical means for large groups of patients, with the variability that implies. Medicine and Surgery are not exact Sciences so it is not possible to stablish the most suitable management for each individual case until the moment the Specialist can evaluate the patient. One medical and/or surgical process can't be predictable 100%, so our Medical Team could modify the management plan at any time, based on the requirements that could be considered as necessary.
