Eyelids Folds and Bags The Cosmetic Surgery technique that removes the signs of aging in the eyelids is called Blepharoplasty. It is a simple and effective procedure that can benefit young people, the middle aged or those with a generalized aging of the face.

Medical Philosophy

The eyes are the first point of visual contact in the face, and therefore the area with greatest look impact. The appearance of extreme tiredness that causes the deterioration of the look around the eyes can become apparent at an early age, especially the unsightly skin folds over the eyes and bags under the eyes. This characteristic ensures that it is the most requested procedure from the facial Cosmetic Surgery range. Different kinds of treatment are available depending on the needs of each case. It is possible to eliminate the excess skin on the upper and lower lids, which may also cause vision problems. The unsightly accumulations or bags of fat on the upper and lower lids can also be eradicated.

We can provide a truly exceptional and exclusive product thanks to our Specialists possessing wide experience in the elimination of the lower fatty bags without leaving a scar on the skin. Our Plastic Surgeons are leaders in these techniques. Known as transconjunctival blepharoplasty, it is the process chosen by our Specialists for the majority of patients because it offers numerous advantages, among which are the absence of skin scars, lesser inflammation, structural preservation and quicker cosmetic recovery.

Blepharoplasty can be performed isolatedly on upper or lower eyelids if the problem is localized, however patients normally need Complete Blepharoplasty or Four Eyelids Blepharoplasty. Frequently, the treatment of the upper eyelids is associated with Eyebrow Lifting. Both treatments correspond to a similar age range, or originate from the same communal problems. On combining both treatments, a full periorbital and upper face rejuvenation is the result achieved.

Indications

Surgery to remove the excess of skin from the upper eyelids and sometimes the upper fat bags if you have created bumps. The treatment of sagging or droopy eyebrows is eyebrow elevation or lifting and not the upper blepharoplasty. In the region of the upper eyelid there is a thin, dark skin belonging to the eyelid and it can be removed in case of excess; there is another area uppermost of clear and thick skin which belongs to the eyebrow and therefore should not be eliminated cause might produce pull down of the eyebrow. Patients requiring comprehensive orbital rejuvenation should add Upper Blepharoplasty to Eyebrow Lifting.

Surgery to remove the bumps on the lower eyelids caused by growth of fat bags that exist around the eyeball and within the orbit. This is done without visible scars through the transconjunctival approach, a very sophisticated technique that allows the intervention on the inside of the lower eyelid and without skin incisions. Rarely used the traditional technique with the scar under the eyelashes can be applied to aged patients who suffer of muscle and skin excess at the lower eyelids.

Patients requiring comprehensive eyelid rejuvenation should join Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty in the same procedure.
