Chin Bone Mentoplasty or Genioplasty is the procedure in Cosmetic Surgery performed to modify and improve the shape of the chin. It forms part of the surgery to the facial outline, together with the correction to the nose.

Medical Philosophy

When the problem is a lack of volume our Specialists have two options to choose from in terms of technique. It is possible to cut and slide part of the chin forward which is named Osseous Genioplasty, or an anatomically shaped implant can be inserted into the chin which is named Augmentation Mentoplasty. We have a wide variety of implants and can select the most appropriate for each patient. In both cases excellent results can be achieved, however the Osseous Genioplasty is clearly superior in terms of naturalness, duration, safety and extension of the effect. There exists a frequent association between a prominent nose and an underdeveloped chin, producing an irregular bird-shaped facial profile.

Sometimes, an excessive protrusion is to be found, or an undesired shape or lack of volume. In the cases of a prominent chin, this is shortened by the sliding of a section of the bone backwards. If the chin is too wide in a vertical sense, it is then reduced by the removal of a horizontal layer of bone.

Indications

Osseous surgery of the chin acting on the structure in order to advance the short chin (retrogenia) and small (microgenia), reduce high chin vertically (macrogenia) or increase it. It reshapes the chin and tightens the lower face muscle and double chin by bone lengthening. Fillers injected are advised against due to their unnatural result, migration problems, infections, short duration and painful discomfort that patients will be harmed. The bone surgery is safe for life and amazingly natural, being an inferior though acceptable alternative the insertion of chin implant.

Commercial Philosophy

We are fully aware of the importance for the patients to feel satisfied with their chin, both in their own personal being and in their world around them. That is why we have designed a product so that a mentoplasty can be within reach of any person who needs reshaping to the chin, irrespective of their financial possibilities. Finally, there is available to the general public the best offer of chin implants and osseous genioplasty in terms of price/quality. Without compromising results or guarantees we allow any person to have the possibility of seeing their dreams come true, without it representing an unviable economic outlay.

This technical datasheet is based in statistical means for large groups of patients, with the variability that implies. Medicine and Surgery are not exact Sciences so it is not possible to stablish the most suitable management for each individual case until the moment the Specialist can evaluate the patient. One medical and/or surgical process can't be predictable 100%, so our Medical Team could modify the management plan at any time, based on the requirements that could be considered as necessary.
